So we had a blast at the yearly convention. Yes. We did.

Even though there wasn't much there for us bitter old fandom queens. Lots and lots of cosplay people, lots of anime and manga. Weird. But we went to see some good panel discussions and then had one of our own, followed by a presentation where emmuzka and I babbled about the past 10 years in slash.

:) Of course I was really really nervous about sitting there in front of about a hundred and fifty people, talking about... anything really. Didn't matter it was about men having sex or Wincest or whatever. Talking about the weather would have been as weird.

But yeah. Had a blast. Will have to do this again next year.

- Am overjoyed by the news I read about Tennant doing a TV version of Hamlet. Some of the spoilers I read about the upcoming Doctor Who episodes also made me go squee.
- Which made me realize I'm a totally sad bastard.
- Work isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Which is a blessing.
- It's not ridiculously hot anymore. Yay!
- Is it Friday already?

I spend an hour or so writing down a silly AI bunny... and it ends up becoming a 1800 words of rather cracky fic.

*cough* The funny thing was that Simon's voice is actually pleasant (for all those two seconds or so he sings) and then it's like OMG you forgot the lyrics! Also, Randy's reaction to his suggestion is hilarious. Poor poor Randy Jackson.

Now I'm tempted to go looking for some Simon/Ryan fics, but... Most of that stuff is just so bad it makes my eyes bleed. Should go and find some recs... Or maybe someone can rec something...

What did I do today?

- Had lunch with dlasta. Yes, the steak was good. :)

- Laughed at goths and their taste in music.
- Bought yet another movie where Viggo bonds with horses. Yes. I know.
- Read (!!!) some of Contract With God by Juan Gomez-Jurado, and I think it will be worth every euro I paid for it...
- An writing a crack fic with a yappy dog. Yes. Insane.

I just read that both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson passed away earlier today. I'm totally weirded. Was not an avid fan of either, and yet...

Man. I'd forgotten how much fun writing drabbles is!

Am watching season 2 (yes! I know!), and thus far this has been an utter riot.

My fav moments are a tie between a pic of Simon in speedo, Paula asking Clay Aiken on a date (irony!) and Ryan actually saying, 'send VOTE to number whatever, that's VEE OH TEE EEEEH!'

Come on. This show is supposed to be entertaining, not showing everyone outside the USA that all the stereotypes about people there are stupid.

I really like twink!Ryan though. He looked much better before he lost all that weight!

What to do when you're not feeling so hot?

1. Watch a good movie/read a good fic.

2. Have a shower and go to bed early.

3. Watch the early eps of AI season 2.

The first one who guesses correctly gets a drabble!

Not that my reactions weren't easy to predict. :) I guess I was spoiled a long time ago, with low budget shows like Robin of Sherwood, that had good bits and bad bits but always made me feel good.

- cry a lot while watching Star Trek

- realize that the fact that you really don't want to read generic fucking/friendship fic about these two
- feel cheated and pissed off
- eat some strawberries
- try not to think about politics and the new universe of Trek.

- get more strawberries

- decide on blueberries instead
- go to eBay and check available Star Trek uniforms
- have a mental image of Kirk sitting on Spock all naked
- choke on blueberries
- decide the whole day is full of fail

Now, I need a new brain. Preferably one that works. But not Spock's brain. I bet it wouldn't help me get rid of my porny Kirk thoughts.

Anyone actually reading new Star Trek fics... Point me towards something decent! Porn with plot, with issues, with Kirk and Spock or Spock and Kirk! Thank you.

So, my reaction to the new Star Trek movie is pretty predictable.

Yes, laughed at all the inside jokes. Yes, cried like a baby (and not only once). Have much fondness towards all the new guys. Still love Leonard Nimoy to pieces.

There are now bunnies hopping around, and I'm doing my best to ignore them. Too many possibilities to weird plotlines, too little time, and so forth.

Also, I have a weird craving for Bones/Scotty. I must be out of my mind!

The only meh thing had nothing to do with the movie, but the audience. Some idiots behind us were actually babbling (and quite loudly) over the movie, and I had to growl at them when I realized that I either told them to shut up, or I'd soon throw my drink at them. Damn idiots...

Now I really want to do the whole nostalgia thing and watch Star Trek 2 the Wrath of Khan, but my poor fragile sanity wouldn't survive the angst. So will just go and do something ellse.

Let's just ignore the fact that I totally hate the whole elephant in the room saying. *growl* This was absolutely adorable:



Oh, and I bet at least tvillingar gasn't seen it yet.... :P

Okay, so I think the latest installation of the Fast and the Furious movies is supposed to be full of manly angst and adrenaline, but could they have made it more gay? Well,maybe if they'd cut like two seconds of the so called romancing,maybe. Otherwise...

Am glad I managed not to spoil myself before watching, because it was actually all weird and almost forgot by the end that there was even going to be a winner. Weird.

My fav moment was David Cook singing, and that full body hug with Ryan Seacrest after the song. Yes. I'm sad like that. Also, I absolutely hate hate HATE every single live performance of Queen without Freddie Mercury, but am now half entertaining the thought that Adam Lambert doing some work with the band wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Somebody shoot me now.

If the recap I just read about the season finale of CSI NY wasn't a hoax... WHAT? Like... WHAT?

Yesterday, tried reading a NCIS fic, squinting at the screen for like an hour. After the very competent federal agents almost got themselves killed for the second time out of pure stupidity, I ran screaming.

Now I'm checking out Candy Apple's latest Nip/Tuck fic.
